Privacy policy
What Opranta collects, what it does with it, and what it never does with your mobile number.
Who this covers
This policy is from Bittanic, which publishes Opranta at opranta.com. It covers the information we collect about you when you visit this website, ask for a demo, or hold an account with us.
It does not cover what a business does with your information inside its own Opranta workspace — see “Information our customers hold” below, which explains the difference and who to ask.
What we collect
From the forms on this site: your name, email address, phone number if you give one, company name, industry, team size, and whatever you write in the message field. If you ticked the box asking us to text you, we record that you ticked it and when.
From your visit: standard web analytics — pages viewed, how you arrived, rough location from your IP address, browser and device type. This is used to understand which pages explain the product well and which do not.
From an account, if you open one: the details needed to run it — sign-in identity, billing information handled by our payment processor, and the activity logs that let us support you and investigate problems.
Text messages and your mobile number
If you gave us consent, we use your mobile number to reply to a demo request you submitted, to help you set up your account, to send account notices such as a trial ending or a failed payment, and to answer a support conversation you started.
Consent is given by ticking a box that starts blank, and it is never a condition of buying anything or of us dealing with your enquiry. You can withdraw it at any time by replying STOP to any message or by emailing us. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. The full programme is described on the text message programme page.
Mobile information is never sold or shared
No mobile information will be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party, and are excluded from every category of sharing described elsewhere in this policy. The only parties who receive a mobile number are the messaging providers who deliver the messages on our behalf, and they may not use it for any other purpose.
How we use what we collect
To answer you, to arrange and run a walkthrough, to work out whether the product fits, to set up and support an account, to bill for it, and to improve how we explain the product. We do not make decisions about you by automated means that have a legal or similarly significant effect.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Who else sees it
Only these, and only for the purpose named:
- Our own staff, to answer you and to run your account
- Service providers who operate parts of our systems on our behalf — hosting, email delivery, messaging, payment processing, analytics — under contracts that limit them to that purpose
- Professional advisers, where we need advice
- Authorities, where the law requires it
- A buyer, if the business is ever sold, under the same obligations
Mobile numbers and text message consent are excluded from all of the above except the messaging provider that delivers the message, as stated in the section above.
Information our customers hold
Opranta is software that businesses use to talk to their own customers. If a clinic, agency or contractor holds your details in their Opranta workspace, they decide what is collected and why — we only hold it for them, under contract, and we do not use it for our own purposes.
To see, correct or delete that information, ask the business you dealt with. If you are not sure who that is, write to us and we will point you to them.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses cookies needed to serve the pages and standard analytics to measure traffic and campaign performance. We do not run third-party advertising cookies that build a profile of you across other websites. Your browser can block or clear cookies; the site works either way.
How long we keep it
Enquiries: until you ask us to delete them, or two years after our last contact, whichever comes first. Account and billing records: for as long as the account exists and then for the period tax and company law requires. Text message consent and opt-out records: for as long as we hold the number, because being able to prove an opt-out is the point of keeping it.
Your choices
- Ask for a copy of what we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything wrong
- Ask us to delete it, where we are not required to keep it
- Withdraw text message consent — reply STOP, or email us
- Ask us to contact you a different way, or not at all
How we protect it
Access is limited to staff who need it, traffic is encrypted in transit, and data is encrypted at rest with our hosting and database providers. Ordinary text messages are not encrypted end to end, which is why the messages described here are limited to routine account matters and never carry anything sensitive.
Children
This is a product sold to businesses. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version is posted on this page with a new date. A change that materially affects how we use information you have already given us will be told to you directly.
